The University of British Columbia ranked 2nd in Canada in 2020 and 34th in Times Higher Education in the World University Rankings 2019

However, in evaluating the impact on delivering on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in 2020, THE ranked UBC Number 1 in Canada and 7th globally

UBC is one of three Canadian universities in the top 50. The two others are the University of Toronto and McGill University

The University has two campuses: Vancouver and Okanagan

A total of 66,747 students enrolled in 2018-2019 academic session 

17,971 faculty and staff members are supporting their studies and research work

Some 18,323 international students from 160+ countries make UBC a cultural melting pot on Canada’s western coast.  

The University awarded 14,439degrees in 2018-2019

In 2018, UBC had over $672.7 million in research funding for 9,941 projects

The annual budget of UBC was approximately $3 billion in 2018-19

UBC has more than 350,000 alumni in 140+ countries

Three Canadian Prime Ministers are among the UBC alumni

65 Olympic medals won by varsity athletes including 19 gold

Eight current and former faculty and alumni of the UBC are Nobel laureates
